We fled the valley and headed to the lake. We had a short yet blissful time in San Marcos.

Though what seemed like a tranquil escape really was a tense vacation. Stomach virus's consumed two. Late nights induced cranky, tired kids. Constant whining from them and yelling from us. We even had a designated time-out corner in our lake side room. Sunshine and sun tans evoked more warfare. And Legoland couldn't solve all our family drama.

Could it be because we stayed in building 4? Bad luck number in Chinese.
On the other hand...in between all the hysteria we did have moments of good cheer.

We found ourselves living poolside.

I realized the kids relaxation style is without doubt by the pool.

They weren't interested in kayaking or paddle boarding.

Prior to checking in...

We dropped Pickles off at the BnB. This was his first time away from home.

We communicated with lots of pictures via text during his stay there. I heard he was very sociable.

Back to our trip, one night we drove to Escondido to Stone Brewing. David's favorite excursion of the trip.

Balmy and breezy after hours.

S'more fun.

Room service is such a treat!!

Not sure how many more years I can take of Legoland. But the new Ninjago World was pretty cool.

Only five minute wait times. We went on a good day!

Cut to brownie making...
Resume to the Ninjago ride.

The things I make them pose in. Truman driving a purple car makes me laugh.

We voyaged to the Sea Life Aquarium for the first time.

It's just the right size to settle down after an extensive trek around Legoland.

The kids liked the scavenger hunt.

Done-for-the-day vibes.

Night swimming to unwind...

With a nightcap by the fire pit.

Overall, we happily indulged.

Gained new insight into one another.

David still loves me and hasn't run out on us...yet.

Pickles was all played out when he got home too. He slept for two days!!!
