This was seriously the easiest costume I've ever made. I didn't spend one penny. And I didn't need to take ten trips to Michael's. I had all the supplies at home: grocery bag, construction paper, and a headband.
I got my inspiration from Kiddos Craft blog then made a few modifications to make it a bit more comfortable and girlie for my girlie girl.
The base of the pineapple (tank)top is from a recycled paper bag. Trader Joe's has good, sturdy handles which I tore off and stapled to both front and back to use as straps. Nothing went to waste.
The older son taught me how to make origami squares and I swore to myself this was the last time I'd ever fold a square again. Trust me. You'll know what I'm talking about after you've folded three dozen.
Choose a pattern. I was thinking of using two or three different colors to create an ombre/shade effect but that would've taken too much of my creative brain cells to conceptualize and follow through on it.
Flutter leaf sleeves, obviously.

Print and attach a Dole or Del Monte label. Or snag one from the market.

Now...look at your child and tell her she's the (pine)apple of your eye.
For the pineapple stem, I found a tutorial on Sugar Bee Crafts blog on how to create an easy leaf topper.
Happy Halloween everyone!
