This week in pictures | Aug 25-31, 2014

Labor Day weekend got the best of my time and energy.  I wasn't planning on posting this week's, this week in pictures.

But then I imagined twenty years into the future when my kids would ask, "what happened during the week of Aug 25-31, 2014???"

So here it is, three days later...

S U P E R S T A R:

 Back to school night:

The teacher recommended they read more non-fiction books vs. chapter books. I went to the library.  And didn't follow directions.  Villains and zombies...right up Truman's literary alley:

Binge reading on Roald Dahl:

Roald Dahl

In the name of science, Franny K Stein series was a MUST.  Just the name alone makes me laugh.  Get it!!??

I failed my first assignment:

He must be excited about his SHARP crayons:

In between the lines:

Coming up with new games to play on our walks is challenging.  We came up with "Who's Name Was Here?":

Feeling depressed (her too!) at the East Valley Animal shelter:

Feeling better:

Bubbles:

Despite my best efforts to ban play-doh (I know, I'm an unfit mother), pods seem to reappear every so often:

Anna is a world traveler:

I got invited to the coolest birthday party to hang out with the best people in downtown, L.A. at Honeycut (I can't remember the last time I was at a bar/club).

There was music, dancing, old friends, cupcakes, alcohol.  I had a shirley temple but never mind that.  The party didn't start till 9:30 p.m. and I didn't get home until 4:00 a.m.

It's good to wear heels and feel NORMAL every so often:

Hope you had a happy "Labor Day" weekend!
