PYO(pick-your-own) strawberries
It's that time of year at Underwood Family Farms, where Pre-k kids from all over the San Fernando Valley head to, for spring's strawberry picking.

Call it the ultimate field trip for the 5 to 6 year old masses which for most would be their very first time on a big yellow school bus.
Do strawberries have seeds on the inside or outside? Raise your hand if you know the answer.
Me, me, me, me, me...
I actual didn't volunteer for this trip...so unlike me! I put ME wanting to experience her first field trip and first bus ride with her aside - to give her space to be on her own, gain confidence/independence, and just have fun with her friends.

(Plus, I knew parents would be taking lots and lots of pictures for me to experience from a distance...and for me to upload on my blog!)
I'm learning to hover less and be o.k. with not experiencing EVERYTHING with my kids.
Yet after all that's been said and done, I just LOVE, LOVE vintage tractor drawn wagon rides.
And man, that FIELD, with those super fresh, locally grown berries!! I made the right decision not to go, RIGHT!!!???
I found a few photos of Truman from This week in pictures | May 12-18 when we went with his class to Underwood Family Farms two years ago!!
