While dad's away, the kids will drive mom cray cray

David left me to man the house and brew my own coffee for six days.  He was in Canada for business and although, him working long hours and frequently traveling for work has been our way of life, on and off, for the past 15 years, it still feels yucky.  It never gets easy when he has to get on a plane.

Overall, the kids were relatively good.  Everyone pulled their own weight knowing what the repercussions of disobeying me would be once David got back.  Not pretty.

On Day 1 of missing David, a group of us went to a men's soccer game at UCLA.

We went to cheer on our Bruin pals Alex Knox and Matthew Powell.

UCLA Bruin Pals

Hello Alex Knox and Matthew Powell.  They beat my alma mater CSUN.

On day 2, I did manly things like shop for hardware supplies.

Note to self: remember to wear appropriate shoes when changing the dirty, dusty air filter.

I took Truman to school all week.  Say cheese!

When is he going to realize my love for him is everything.

On Day 3, I took Portia to her tennis lesson and raced home to make tacos for dinner, the obvious choice on a Tuesday.

By day 4, we were skyping every night.  David was in Toronto for a few days and spent the tail end of his trip in Montreal.  I love when he gives us a tour of his hotel rooms.  I see it as a vacation, he sees it as shelter.

On day 5, the little ones had picture day at school.

David is usually here to iron a shirt for Presley.  But Presley found one that didn't need ironing.  He picked out his own tie.  And topped it off with his sports coat.  He loves being fancy.

Then, I drove across town to meet my niece Dylan at the hospital.  She's an absolute DREAM!! I love her so much!!!!

I've been waiting for this moment my whole life...to watch my brother change a diaper. BWAHAHAHA!!!!

Day 6, Daddy came home.  We picked David up at the airport and went to dinner.  He wanted to hear how much everyone missed him.  He lives for that moosh.
