Strange things happened on the way back from a chess tournament...
I drove up to a lit yard.

The tree was fluffed and bedazzled. (But where's our star???)

My room was filled with flowers.

And Pickles was not the only creature to greet me.

Dinner was made and homework was done. When I leave a to-do-list, I don't expect it all to get checked off.
I guess there's a first time for everything.
We've had lots of FIRSTS lately.
First time together at the Getty Museum.
First snack stand.

First chess tournament.

(NOT her first dandelion wish).

First time wrapping toys at Children's Hunger Fund's America's Toy Wrap.

First year the kids bought Christmas gifts for each other with their own money.

They had a $5.00 budget for each at Daiso.

You really learn a lot about someone when they're spending their own money.

Here's a quick look...

One of the best things about having siblings is you have a few extra presents to open on Christmas morning.

All I want for Christmas is for my kids to stop fighting and for them to wake up Christmas morning realizing they can't live without each other. Is that too much to ask for Santa?
I even prayed about it at church one night while watching my nephews sing in the Christmas choir and felt hopeful that God's almighty, supernatural strength over us will make all things possible.

Oh yes! He simultaneously put his Godly hands over my children right then and there and helped them see the light. That is, love and appreciation for one another.

I looked at my kids down the pew for a slither of enlightenment in their face. But all I saw was Truman ripping the program into pieces to make a puzzle. Presley was on the brink of deep unconsciousness and Portia's intimate connection with the Lord involved hunger pains and ice cream.

Lucky for you Lord, I'm a very patient person.
