thanks + giving

Family is everything.  They're like a warm blanket that's consistently cozy and always comforting.

Sometimes one of us looks like this.

Other times like this.

And most of the time like this.

The simple moments are the best, cuddling on the couch, listening to the sound of her reading voice...

While drinking coffee in my favorite mug.

This pretty much summed up our Thanksgiving staycation - bumming at home eating chips and gauc.

We did change out of our jammies for steamed dumplings.

And couple days later we brushed our teeth to take photos for our holiday card at Travel Town Museum.  I'll share that later in another post.

But here's a peak.

I picked up this pretty young thing in the frozen aisle.

Then took home these two cuties that I spotted in the meat and seafood department.

David cooked our turkey sous vide this year.  There's lots and lots of sous vide tutorials out there.

It came out so juicy and delicious (no after pictures to show 😕).

Can I at least take credit for the brine?

And all six side dishes please?

We hosted Dylan's first Thanksgiving.  I love having a baby in the family again.

Portia wanted to get the house all ready for her.

She loves entertaining especially during the holidays.

She schools herself by watching recipe demonstrations and cooking videos.

Future Hostess with the Mostess in da house!

Presley was on place card duty.  He has the best penmanship in the family.  He also likes practicing cursive.

Our table looked a little something like this.  I feel so blessed.

And my family looked a little something like this.

My sister was sorely missed and the boys really missed their cousins.  They carved turkey with their east coast family this year.

We had extra bread for next day's french toast breakfast (I forgot to put it out 😏).

And leftovers for lunch.

Prior to swallowing the Thanksgiving table, the boys and I ran Drumstick Dash's 5k in the morning.

So grateful to be part of the $90,000 dollars raised to help those less fortunate and at the same time teaching my kids compassion by giving back to the SFV community and marking this our 3rd year running together.  I beat you Truman!!!!
