During winter break, we took a little road trip down the coast to a little town called Cambria. We've never been. Turns out we REALLY like little (dog friendly) towns by the sea.

We stayed in a charming inn off Moonstone Beach.

Continental breakfast right outside your door.

A lot of something for everyone.

Elephant seals of San Simeon.

My babies.

Golden hour to have "the best seafood" says everyone in San Luis Obispo county.

The Sea Chest was only a two minute walk from our inn and gave us one breathtaking sunset view while we waited in line.

It waaaasss the best seafood in town!

Complimentary brownies every night followed by board games and movies in our room.

Setting off at daybreak.

We took a tour up to Hearst Castle.

Such a historical treasure.

I loved all the Greek and Roman sculptures.

1400 feet high!

Imagining what it would've been like to be a guest.

Get dressed up and dine in The Refectory.

To have a chance to swim in Neptune Pool.

Or the other indoor alternative.

Too much wine?

In town treasure hunting.

"Truman, how do you feel about drought tolerant plants?"

Take home souvenirs.

Last home style dinner in a tiny cottage with a fireplace running at The Sow's Ear.

How I see David and I living out our retirement dreams. I don't drink white wine but I could start.

Final stop to Cayucos to pick up some famous brown butter sea salt cookies from Brown Butter Cookie Company before heading home.

Until next time Cambria!
